Many of us are counting the days until the election, worried about the consequences to our democracy. We are coming up on the anniversary of Oct. 7 when the ongoing situation in Israel and Gaza took on nightmare proportions. We carry all the complicated emotions and strains this situation has wrought. Some of us are holding loss and grief while doing the good work of raising children, caring for aging parents, and supporting loved ones. Some are experiencing a new way of being because a child has left the nest. Still others feel the claustrophobic pressure of loneliness or depression or a new diagnosis. And, it is true, some of us have found today is a day, finally, without worry or doubt or fear. In the midst of all of this “living life” we are called back together once again.
