Listening Circles for UUFCC ministerial search start Oct 1!
Thanks very much to everyone who completed the search survey! We’re excited to have 135+ individual responses, ~40% overall return rate. There was a solid mix of newer and longer-term members’ and friends’ participation. Review is underway, with summaries to be shared soon. We’re moving into the next phase of gathering input: ministerial search listening circles. The first one is this Sunday after the service, in-person during Lifespan RE Hour. More search listening circles, in-person and via Zoom, will be held the first half of October. If you have a chance, please think about these questions...Read more. Your Ministerial Search Committee, Chair Ann Snowman, Kevin Alloway, Etta Habegger, Wayne Osgood, Pam Short, Jamie Stitzer

| Sun, Oct 1 - "Imagination" - 10:00 AM with Rev. Leah Ongiri (see bio below) Humans have the capacity for both cruelty and kindness, which can lead us either to hope or despair. In such a confused and fractured world, creative imagination can help us embrace our traditions as we move into a shared future. |

Rev. Leah Ongiri (she/her) has served congregations in California, New Jersey, Florida, Wisconsin, and Colorado. She is a graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry and coeditor of the Skinner House book Jewish Voices in Unitarian Universalism. In her current ministry, she consults with congregations and coaches clergy who are seeking to develop and support their communities’ spiritual care and ministry teams. Leah is an amateur potter and casual poet. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her four children and spouse. She loves guest preaching and is honored to (virtually) visit UUFC, especially since she got to work under Rev. Tracy when she was an intern minister! | |

Sun, Oct 8 - "Unlikely Friends" - 10:00 AM with Rev. Tracy Sprowls I collect stories about animals that have become unlikely friends from a hippo and a turtle to an old grey parrot and his scientist friend. This morning we honor our animal friends and all of the earth’s creatures with our annual animal blessing. Bring photos of an animal you live with or love or admire or lost. Bring your well behaved dogs and cats or chickens, too. Live animals are welcome. So are beloved stuffies. |

Please let us know your ideas for making small changes to the mission/vision. Click to view our current mission and vision. You may submit your responses in one of the following ways: Visit the table in the Community Room after the service October 1 and October 8, or any time between those dates, to submit your contributions in writing. Send an email with your ideas to asktheboard@uufcc.com Complete a 1-question survey here.
Please respond by October 8! Thank you! |
Fall Decorating
Did you or your family grow a large and/or artsy looking pumpkin or gourd this summer? Have you seen one at a local farmer's market that caught your eye? If you are willing to share it, please feel free to add it to the display by the front door of the Fellowship. Color, uniqueness, humor--whatever would add to a cheerful Fall welcome for all. Thanks from the Gardening Group |
